First ride

Today was our first ride out in away trail
I went to blue n gray for the first time and meet up with some FB people from rhe horse friends group
It was awesome and I hurst so bad
You think with my fat ass it would hurt less but no
Fleck was her usual self as in reliable but bitchy
She actually wanted to give the dog that went with us a paw with her front or two
Lancelot did great even with a new rider and an Aussie saddle
He tried to jump the ditches couple times though
2 hour ride, nice muddy but not thick mud
Several water crossings
All in all I am proud of my horses for a new place, time off, new horses around and they rode nice ;-)

Smarts

When I got Smarts I was told she was open, that the owner had not breed her
But she got her in late summer/fall
I have no idea what happened before then
Looking at the size of her belly I starting to wonder
What you all think?

Sassy update

Sassy is my blind mare
She came to our place just short of 2 month ago
She was skinny and we wormed her and got her teeth done right away and with good hay and 2 to 3 feedings a day she now starting to look good
So I did split pictures of her the day we got her on the left and her today one the right side 2 month after we got her

Spring

Yeah not yet
More snow
I am greatfull I don't have any foals on the ground
Having a hard enough time keeping my special need horses, rescue horses, minis and youngster warm and dry
The rest of the horses are doing fine
Thursday is animal auction and I will take some if my roosters to sell and hopefully come home with a new piglet to raise

No school for the kids today
The phone is down and my Internet is on and off
Called them and hopefully they come out tomorrow like they said to get it fixed

Got parts ordered for the foal cam as one fried but hopefully that will get here in the mail this week as bey is getting closer and closer
Still not sure about ghost
She looked so big and in foal but now in the last couple weeks she lost that big tummy
Oh just have to wait and see
If bey will be having the only foal I be super sad
This year will be the first time I breed butterscotch
Smarts will be breed and do is Ghost

Tack for sale

Cleans out my tack room today and listed a bunch of tack for sale on my Facebook
Bits, breast colors, English tack like irons and cinch,pads, bridles and reins
Training forks, slintboots, and much more

Lot of updates

Well where to start
Splash ,my new 3 year old Cremello APHA mare I got Friday, is doing great
We are working on halter breaking and she is getting used to eating grain
On Saturday I went and picked up shushu and her 5 month old hotshot colt
Shushu is a 18 year old MFT mare that was with a friend for a year and a half to boost her daughters confident in riding
She done just that and is now back here
Her colt by hotshot is Spur and he is 5 month old and a gold champagne that looks like he may be going gray like his mother
Spur and splash are about the same size
What is a shame as I am 100% sure Splash is do tiny as for she was stunted as in not feed enough to grow
Both spur and splash needs a bath but its still way to cold out, well maybe soon

New mare

Let me start out with this
This mare is APHA
She will be 3 years old next month
Yes she is only 12.1 hands tall
She is also skinny under her long winter hair and not filler out at all
In my opinion this is from long term under feeding
Enough for her not to look skin and bone but not enough to grow
She is also not halterbroke but not strong enough to fight me
She also did not touch horse feed what tells me she don't know what feed is

Step 1 done today in heating, bending and welding the top part of my turtle
There will be another layer of horseshoes to finnish the shell

My knee and horses

Have not had much time to update as I was just very busy
I sold Jodie what made me sad as I really liked her but with a bummed out knee it's just better to reduce specially a green broke horse
2 minis also went to new homes and my mini bay is starting to bag up so there will be a baby soon
Pal is out on a lease what freed up his own (sit closest to the front door) so I moved blind sassy in that as she gets feed 2 to 3 times a day
So again made things lot more easy with my knee sassy is also to go on a lease but will see how that turns out
Smarts baled spots are growing hair what makes me happy and I got more ani-fungel meds for her
Shushu and spur are coming home next weekend so my number will go back up lol but it's all good
Spur will get weaned and be with sassy and shushu will go out to pasture
Glad I got my old anybody can ride horse back :-)
So much rain it's just no fun outside
