Horses update

I picked up Luna today
She is a very well gaited Cremello MFT yearling filly
Hopefully she will be our next ridding horse, got to love them gaited horses

I also went to a FB friends house to look at a very well breed AQHA mare
She got hurt and that has ended her job as a cow horse and is now looking for a new job as a broodmare
She sure is a nice shade of palomino and well build

It's raining so no new pictures of Luna so here is an old one

Goldilocks

Since I am not to ride alone per husband I thought I get goldilocks training finished
I ground drove her and she was hooked to a cart 2 times once with my son sitting in it
So today she drove me 1/4 mile down the road and back like she done it for the longest time
She is such a good pony/mini
The harness that I bought came with splint boots and bell boots it's so cute

So much stress

We went riding yesterday
Half way down the trail my sons gelding Lancelot tripped on a stump and both ended up in/trough/on top of a 3 inch tree
Justin held on to the saddle horn and the tree hit his wrist and broke one of the long bones in his lower arm by the wrist
The tree did him in an he fell off
Luckily he wore a helmet as he did hit his head
We made a sling out of one of the saddlebags and had to walk a mile to the next accessible dive/road within Knob Noster state park to where the ambulance was waiting
He was taken to children's mercy in KC
Bone was still lined up nice and a splint was put on till the swelling is down enough to put a cast on
Justin was very brave walking so long with a broken arm
We sure are very proud of him
Lancelot is unhurt (and so is the tree) and will go to get ridden (get a refresher) by a friend in the time Justin can't ride to improve Lancelot's training
So relived, it sure could have been much worse

Outside

I am out doing this
Sure is a great view from up here

Change is in the air

Soooo today the mini sugar returned to me
She was adopted out but the owner in moving and can not keep her
I got her from my friend Teresa and she wants her back :-)
So Friday the mini Sugar will go back to Teresa and will be back with her sister
In her place I will bring home a yearling Cremello very well gaited MFT filly that is out of Teresa's very nice stallion Star and her very sweet palomino MFT mare (that I just adore)
Luna will get trained to ride next year and join out other riders and go on trail rides

My new mare is home

Please all welcome my new mare
Spice of butterscotch is a 6 year old grullo tobiano APHA mare
She had 3 foals
First was a grulla solid by an AQHA stallion
Second and third were grulla tobiano's by a grulla tobi stallion
I seen her last/third foal what is a great looking filly that is also homozygous tobiano
She is open and will be breed to hotshot in the spring

Awesome day

Maximus got picked up today,
Then I been waiting to see if it will rain or not and finally got tired of waiting
I loaded up Fleck and Peppermint ( and the husband) and went riding at Knob state park
Had fun and we were the only riders out there
I just love being in the woods

Bridle

I got this very nice bridle by Martin saddlery that was not cheep and is of great quality
Sadly it only got for decoration a basket weave pattern
I bought some bridle charms for it but I still thought it needs more bling

So today I had this idea
I had Adam weld them little metal loopy things on the back of 2 half dollar coins and I attached the to the side of the bridle where the browband attaches along with the charms
And I ordered some buffalo nickels that have Chicago screw on the back

What to say?

Things

Everything is back to normal lol
Went back to work this morning, yes vacation time is over,
I bet the horses are happy I am home since now they are back on getting grain, spoiled just a little
The house is still a disaster but the kids went back to school today so I may get things cleaned, maybe or maybe not
Maximus is getting weaned and he will go to his new home this weekend
Ghost is back to her old self and I think we going to start riding her this weekend
I really want to go to Knob Noster this weekend and hit the trail since I am off this and do not have to work
Will see how things work out

Drive home

We took out time driving home from Texas to Missouri
We stopped to go zip-line-ing
It's was fun but scary
We stopped in Arkansas to go antique shopping and stopped at the natures bridge
Again stopped in Brandon so eat and then hurried home
Sure is good to be home
Horses are doing fine :-)
