Over the years

I had a lot of horse friend over the years
Some came and went
Some are still my friends over the years and some back-stabed me or done my wrong
One thought she was better then anybody else, said her horses were better since she was going to show them, her stallion was shown once and then got hurt but he was something special since she was going to show his foals, well long story short: she never did and the couple of his foals she did keep and now mid-age and not even broke
She thought pedigree was everything and a horse with a less good pedigree was just not good enough to breed no matter how good the horse was,
Horses that breed had to have a show record but the funny thing is hers that she breed did not have that nether
And she justified breeding them none show horses with that she would show them foals, again what she never did
She even called my best producing mare a nag
I, myself think that you can't ride papers
Papers are good to have and don't get me wrong my breeding horses have papers but it's funny that my best ridding horses don't
I had horses with a big show record and points that were not worth anything in my opinion for they had bad bad personalities and were horses I would never ever train to ride
Some with excellent pedigrees that produced nothing nice or good and horses with papers but no good pedigree to speak of and there foals were the best most easy to train foals
I take a good grade horse anytime over a rank world champion

I so learned over the years
The pedigree should tell you what a horse "should" be
Your eyes and heart tell you what a horses really is
